The Challenge

Motivation Publishing was launching their DecideBetter! decision-making series books and sought to penetrate the book market with brand identity to spur readers to seek out the books.  Further, Motivation Publishing wanted McGrath branded in the public’s consciousness as the decision guru.  The book series consisted of three books with different target audiences.

DecideBetter! For A Better Life was designed to assist people in making better decisions in their daily lives.

DecideBetter! For College was intended to assist parents and students with the crucial decisions that are faced by both before and during college.

Business Decisions! was written for CEOs and senior corporate managers in developing and implementing better decisions in their business practices.

The Solution

Strategic Vision PR Group developed a comprehensive public relations strategy that included traditional media, book industry events, speaking engagements, award nominations, and social media.

The Results

Strategic Vision PR Group and Motivation Publishing introduced the book series at BookExpo America.

Following its introduction, Strategic Vision PR Group obtained coverage for the author and the books on ABC News Now, CNBC, FOX Business Network, CNN, PBS’s Tim Janis celebrate America,CNN International,  local television affiliates in Boston, Dallas, and Houston, Voice of America, CNN Radio, Woman’s World Magazine, Bloomberg Business Week, Publisher’s Weekly, New York Post, Boston Globe, Star Tribune, Dallas Morning news, Boston Herald, Chicago Tribune, Investor’s Business Daily, Bloomberg News,  Les Affaires, USA Today, Associated Press, San Diego Union-Tribune, CBS Radio, Forbes, Black Enterprise Magazine, Daily Finance, Washington Times, Nashua Telegraph, Canadian Business Magazine, Star-Ledger, Wall Street Journal, Pittsburgh Post Gazette,  and several hundred radio stations.

The agency also developed and implemented a social media campaign for the series on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

Author and decision guru, Michael McGrath spoke at Dallas Blue, CEO Roundtable, and several publishing associations across the nation.

DecideBetter! For A Better Life was selected as a finalist for the coveted Benjamin Franklin Award, ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award, and Next Generation Indie Award.  It was also nominated for the Boston Author’s Club Book Award, National Book Award, and Eric Hoffer Award.

Decide Better! For College! won the iParenting Media Award and Best Books Award.  It was also a finalist for the ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award.  In addition, it was ranked by Amazon as  #1 in three College categories and #129 in Books.

Business Decisions was a finalist for the ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award and earned endorsements from leading business leaders including Indra K. Nooyi, Chairman and CEO, PepsiCo and Robert Crandall, former CEO and Chairman, American Airlines.
